Laws

PLEASE read these rules. I do not send passwords and so I do not implement them, however if you do not read my rules I will know && I will block you. Thank you.

  • IF YOU ARE A PERSONAL BLOG , DO NOT FOLLOW ME, DO NOT INTERACT WITH MY POSTS . I will block you! I also will liberally soft block && hardblock people who do not seem to be interacting with me. i am private && mutual exclusive , if i follow you i want to rp .

  • you don't have to know anything about league of legends to interact with me! i am pretty clueless about a lot of medias, but i'm happy to talk / figure things out / simply just wing it & make it up as we go. i only really will avoid pure modern (i.e no magic/magic adjacent tech) verses. general fantasy OR pulsefire TF are both easy to integrate to other places. <:

  • No god-modding ; I likely will outright stop interaction on the spot if this occurs !

  • If you are spouting any sort of bigotry, I will block you. Respect for all is important to me ; the only people who do not deserve respect are racists, homophobes, terfs, etc. If your views are harmful to people, you do not belong here, plain and simple ~ I am not tolerating those who wish to be hateful.

  • Please don’t reblog my art unless otherwise stated / given permission to.

  • I will never be upset if you drop a thread with me, unfollowing, or doing whatever you need to. Your comfort is important!

  • NSFW, Violence, etc will all be tagged accordingly. Please DM me if you need something specific tagged.

  • my twisted fate is trans. say any weird shit and i'll kick your ass.

  • I am exclusive to @endlines' Graves && will not be interacting with any other Graves, and exclusive to @bilgequeen's Miss Fortune && will not interact with any other Miss Fortune. Additionally, I will be single ship with @endlines.

  • Please feel free to reply to anything IC that I post be it a oneliner open or a reply to an ask you sent! I really love short simple RPs just as much as I like plotted ones. We don't need to only ever do long, para RPs. i'm happy to do most whatever.

  • i am a firm believer of this all being a hobby & for fun. as a result, i want to again very specifically highlight I have no interest in drama or otherwise. I don't partake in reacting to anons, nor will i engage in any excessive negativity. i believe most things can be resolved via ignoring and blocking, and really would like to keep it that way.

  • if there is need for genuine call outs of weird behavior, though, i am not against it as i believe there is no place in communities for excessive toxic behavior. it's okay to not like people but like . don't be weird about it. unless they're genuinely being harmful in which case yeah, i think they should be put on blast.

  • OCs and any manner of canon divergence is welcome and celebrated here! I love seeing peoples creativity with OC and canon alike, and if my TF is anything to say of it, I really support anything people do. Writing characters is a creative experience and I am happy to share it with y'all and see what you do, too.

  • If any of the stuff I do with my text is hard for you to read, or otherwise just inaccessible to you specifically, please don't be afraid to tell me! As a general note (going forward in my reboot) i'm going to avoid using text generators for altered font, but of course if small text or any of the other spacing i do bothers you, i can cut back on it for threads with you at the least if not alter it entirely.

  • Similarly, I don't care What you do with your text. :] you don't have to match me, you don't need icons, you don't need fancy words or fancy anything. I find the aesthetics of it very fun, and I know lots of people do, but I don't and will never view it as any sort of "better than". I partake in that sort of elitism, and I sincerely want to express that PLEASE don't be afraid of me just because I like to make things pretty.

OOC, my name is van or vanny, i'm 23, and use he/him/it/its pronouns.

↝ Born Tobias Felix, young Tobias lived alongside his people, a nomadic group of river folk along the Serpentine Delta. The river folk were known for both peddling wares alongside other enticing offers like card readings, gambling tents when they'd settle down, and otherwise being something to gawk at. While his family had long since grown used to this, as it was simply the way things were, it'd always stuck out in Tobias' mind.
↝ He found his true calling in the gambling tents, between games of chance and skill like Mortwheel and Stabberscotch, when he first picked up a deck of playing cards. Many years earlier, his superstitious grandfather had shown him how to read omens in the shuffle and cut, while his aunt had later taught him how to read all an opponent’s tells. Between the two, Tobias took to the high-stakes game of Krakenhand like an old master. He could almost feel each card’s place in the deck, and follow their movements through each successive hand. He was often accused of cheating, but it was difficult for anyone to explain exactly how.↝ one night, a group of men who’d lost their fortunes to young Tobias returned in the dead of night to settle the score. They came bearing cudgels and, emboldened by cheap rotgut, went from tent to tent in their search for him, beating down any of the river folk who got in their way. Fearing for his life, Tobias turned and fled into the darkness. When dawn came, the lad sheepishly crept back to find his people breaking down the camp. No one would look him in the eye. He had thought only of himself, and left others to face the consequences of his actions. Though he begged and pleaded with them all, Tobias was exiled for what he had done. With his whole world falling apart around him, he watched helplessly as the barques left, leaving him alone on the riverbank with nothing but his grandfather’s worn deck of cards clutched in his hands.↝ He grew to manhood as a drifter, trawling the gambling halls of every settlement he came to, using his preternatural skill to earn enough coin to survive. That Tobias was able to relieve the boastful, the arrogant, and the cruel of their cash was just an added bonus—though he was always careful to let his marks win at least a few hands, here and there. He'd grown tough as he could, but always a part of him was pointedly soft, a part of him that regretted the past and hoped to make up for it in time.↝ During his young adulthood, he met a kindred soul in Malcolm Graves, and the two of them spent years running various… dubious endeavors across the northeastern coastal towns, and beyond. With every con, swindle, and heist, Tobias felt the pull of the cards growing stronger, and he knew it was more than mere gambler’s luck that guided him. His people had always waved away concerns over primitive magic and “cartomancy”, but now Tobias began to seek out ever more dangerous means to bend the cards to his will. Said search ended badly when a particularly daring heist went wrong. The exact details of that night remain shrouded in mystery, for neither of them likes to speak of it—but Graves was taken alive, while Tobias and their other accomplices ran free. Though he tried to break Graves out, he failed. Instead, seeking to begin again, he returned his birth name to the river’s waters, and took another: Twisted Fate.↝ After that, Twisted Fate continued to ply his criminal trade in the high parlors and low dens of every city he visited, though without his partner to help him, he tended to find himself cornered far more often. Indeed, he was imprisoned with great fanfare too many times to count, yet no cell ever seemed able to hold him for long; Twisted Fate was always gone with morning’s light, leaving only a mocking calling card to confirm he had ever been there at all.↝ In the port of Bilgewater, Twisted Fate and Graves finally had their day of reckoning. They were forced to put aside their differences after being caught up in a power struggle between the ship captains who ran the place—but following the death of the reaver king Gangplank, the pair managed a swift reconciliation before shoving off and making for distant Piltover.↝ From there, Twisted Fate is glad to have his old friend back, regardless if it takes a good, long time to regain his trust proper.

VERSES

VERSE
MAINPost-Ruination, Twisted Fate is tired && horribly worn but at least his family is in tact for the most part. In a committed relationship with Malcolm Graves ; can be found really anywhere in Runeterra due to mastered magical teleportation & too much of a wayward soul.
PULSEFIREA time & space criminal at large, T.F is always on the run, hopping through all sorts of portals while making a nuisance of himself along the way. Extremely self confident, only minor trauma!!! can hop to different universes & timelines with ease ; still general same backstory but like ... futurey.
GENERIC FANTASYFor any ambiguously fantasy universes, TF will always be a gambler & inherently magic character. like a weird combination of rogue/bard/sorcerer with a sprinkle of wizard energy. i can work the details out, but ultimately his past will always be the same, just applied to locations canon to whatever fantasy world it is!
RUINEDDuring the Ruination, shortly after Graves had been pulled into the Sentinels, Twisted Fate had gotten himself into accidental contact with Viego. Due to his ties to one of the current sentinels && due to the sheer gravity of his pain, he was unfortunately very easy to ruin. Relatively non-hostile for a ruined person ; more-so just verbally antagonistic && a fantastic distraction.
ODYSSEYCaptain of the Wildcard, he's a smuggler && a thief notoriously known through the galaxy && in many places hated for it. He prefers to stick to his guns of smuggling && thievery, however generally can be enticed with a good price. relatively cocky && good-natured. a friend of Yasuo && thus may have some vague connection to the Morning Star ; supposedly his original crew died pretty tragically, && one of which may have gotten slammed into the highest security prison this side of the galaxy ...
CRIME CITY NIGHTMAREThe eldritch entity that seemed to have started all the chaos. Small as he is, he doesn't look like much at first glance but he holds all sorts of power in his cards. Though willing to be good-natured with anyone aching for a proper deal, he is most seen hanging around Malcolm Graves ; his current most -valuable- contract. By far the most hostile && cruel iteration of Twisted Fate ; tread carefully.
STARGAZERAn exceptionally talented stargazer who wanders amidst different spheres of space. coming into contact with dark star entities, he believes it's only a matter of time that it reaches his own sphere. has a sincere and genuine desire to protect the universe ; perhaps the kindest & most genuine iteration of T.F.
ELDERWOODa fairy with hummingbird influences, born to a nomadic bouquet was inevitably kicked out from his family after his antics earned the ire of the coven && his family took the brunt of his mistake after he hid. since, he travels alone ; until his path twines with that of an old god , taking a genuine good && twisting it so— not that he would agree, for Twisted Fate sees nothing bad in his newfound companion.
STARDEWTwisted Fate & his partner Graves opt to settle down on a farm instead of pursuing crime. I do not know how they acquired the farm. T.F is doing his best && actually is extremely content despite having to ease into working so much due to health issues. He retains his magic in this AU.
DON'T STARVEThrown into the Constant alongside Graves, T.F is not particularly great at surviving and spends an unfortunate amount of time insane or as a ghost. He retains his magic in this AU. His Morbid Humor (tm) is terrible in this AU as well.

OVERVIEW // GENERAL MAGIC

RED CARDS for T.F represent massive damage & essentially AoE spells. The back of the card is always an intricate dagger, while the face of the card may allude to the spell in use ; fire in the case of the standard red card as used in game and in cinematics. When he was younger, he could only manifest fire spells from these cards, but as he’s grown older he can manage more terrifying abilities, including such things as the equivalent of a psychic blast, targeted necrotic energy, etc. these more intensive cards require more magic to create & thus he can only use a certain amount of more powerful abilities before resorting back to the standard fire-explosion he learned first.GOLD CARDS are utility in terms of crowd control like effects. Obviously, the stun in game. The backs of these cards are always a link of chains, with the face varying ; though most often for these spells some sort of swirl is in the face’s design. He can do more than just briefly stun ; slowing multiple targets, even outright incapacitating multiple people at once ; making someone fall unconscious, even. Largely he prefers gold cards, and you can even see that reflected in when he shuffles his cards in his hands ; there’s more gold than anything else.BLUE CARDS are utility but in the form of direct benefit to himself or others. The back of these cards is an eye with a few water droplet designs. The restoration of mana is a hard thing to explain, but this card is also used for clairvoyance purposes. He’s learned a funny trick that’s a bit worrisome, but it is another example of what he can do with blue cards. Eyes & water are the most common face motifs; armor & shield faces are used in the place of legitimate armor & protection made from leather or anything.PURPLE CARDS are exclusively teleportation related. The image on its back is a shifting image of a person. He generally can only teleport himself and at most one other person ; if he really drains himself of magic he could potentially teleport more.Small magic manifests in the sky blue of his eyes, but generally his magic takes the colors of one of the four represented in his cards, obviously mirroring whatever spell category is being used. The card doesn’t always need to be thrown to be used, it can be held in his hand and used like a focus instead.I do consider his magic limited in the same vein of D&D spell slots, where the stronger the magic the less chances during the day he has to cast them before he NEEDS to rest as his arcana gets drained from exertion. In NOT-D&D fashion, he can overexert himself in moments of desperation. This usually will knock him out, and can be dangerous for him. Graves has probably experienced this happening.

CARD READING

When used for card reading, all of his cards appear blue until flipped due to the nature of it being a form of divination / clairvoyance.Rather than reflecting the style of tarot or other form of card reading, his cards due to their changing nature will manifest literal signs that he has to interpret. When he flips them, the colors change. If an image appears upside down, it means it’s not happening to HIM or the person he’s reading for specifically, but around them in general.Red is generally an omen ; & its images are largely in relation to destruction.Gold cards are more ambiguous messages, not necessarily good or bad & more of just a general idea of an obstacle.Blue tends to be good imagery in contrast to redPurple, lastly, exclusively means a change of location ; but the specifics of it is left vague, like depicting a building or dock or whatever else. When he reads cards he only draws three cards. He does not pick one of each, it is purely determined by fate what he pulls. Could pull all red, all blue ; it could be anything. After the cards are drawn and the symbols determined, he can choose to try and focus in on at most two of them to get a more ‘specific’ determination regarding the cards' meaning. How this is shown to him is generally in the form of quick visions only he can see. While doing this his eyes go entirely blue without any determinable sclera or pupils & he is technically blinded as his vision is obscured by the magic of vision. These visions at most only last 30 seconds but because it is him directly trying to tap into viewing the threads of fate itself, it is. A Lot. to handle for him. He doesn’t really offer to do it unless he likes you, or unless you’re paying a pretty penny for it.An example draw of cards would be … like for burning tides ; he saw red, blue, and red. An explosion of fire, upside down - meaning it won’t happen to him. Yellow showing a symbol of two serpents twining with their noses touching, implying a reconnection but it is neither good nor bad, and then another red card with waves of the ocean depicted on it. The last two are not flipped, so he KNOWS it’s happening to him.
